This is, without doubt, the best restaurant in Cabanas de Tavira. And this is not an impulsive opinion based on one visit or a single dish. I have been coming here for the past 13 years, so there is some perspective behind my words.
It is a traditional Portuguese family restaurant – something that is becoming increasingly rare, as so many places now adapt to trends and lose their unique character. The menu is short, limited to a few types of fish (depending on the catch of the day) and meats. But the way the fish or meat is grilled here is simply epic! You have to try it to understand that grilling is an art, not just the mindless flipping of food from one side to the other. Sardinhas, robalo, ferreira, sargo, anchova… every single dish is worth trying.
With the fish, you’ll usually find potatoes (boiled or fried) and favas (broad beans) as side dishes – a brilliant idea that makes the meal complete. And then there is the soup, which could well be a reason to come on its own. At Europa, there is a different soup every day, but always a perfect example of what a soup should taste like: freshly cooked, made with fresh vegetables. Whether it’s sopa de legumes, sopa de cenoura (carrot soup), or any other variety, each one is a small masterpiece of flavor.
The service is always friendly, polite, and helpful – with the owners themselves present in the dining room.
I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant and encourage everyone to visit.- Comida

Where do I start? It’s a no frills restaurant, is full of anticipation. The atmosphere can’t be distracted as everyone is fired up for a great dinner. The old guy his roll is top cheese on the bbq , he splits chickens and lays out the ribs and it smell awesome. I had a mixed grill which was guaranteed by anup (the young keen waiter) to be the best in town and I didn’t need to try the others to know he must be right. Wow . So much flavour and mixed with crisp lettuce and delicious Mediterranean tomatoes the size of tennis balls! All washed down by a lovely warm red wine with an oaky taste . Finished by a moroccan coffee. Get in there it’s to die for . What a place to be Cabanas . Amazing . Today I went on the hunt to see if I could buy a fixer upper in the town but even a derelict house is 300 k. Oh well . Will definately come back.

First time eating here after walking past it several times on previous trips to Cabanas. We had the lamb chops, sea bass and salmon, all grilled over charcoal, and they were all incredible. Will definitely be back.

The owner has been running this place for 32 years , all the food is cooked to order , nothing is re heated , seasoned to perfection I’m super fussy , loved this place .
Big portions , good quality .

Absolutely fantastic experience the food was amazing service fantastic the restaurant has been there 30 years and was packed with tourists and Portuguese alike. All eating tge wonderful food If you go ask for the vinho verdi on draught its lovely fresh wine. Perfect best food we had on holiday. Typical Portuguese restaurant.

Hands down our favourite place to eat in Cabanas. I could eat their pork and clams or cataplana every day, its amazingly tasty. No need to give 24h notice like many places either. Sardines are also excellent. Staff are friendly, the guy who runs the grill is a real character too.…Mais avaliações

Excellent meal... The Dourada was delicious fresh and very big A good bitoque Friendly service Amêijoas were very tasty Creme Caramel dessert was lovely

From the front, this restaurant looks like an unassuming café with a few tables out front, but there is a covered courtyard behind the kitchen and grill where the chef works his wonders.
Our Robalo (sea bass) and cataplan were both perfectly cooked and generous portions. The sea bass came with tender baby broad beans, boiled potatoes and a side salad; the cataplan with chips.
Don't worry if you are not a fan of seafood, they do several meat dishes as well, including steak, eggs and chips.

The last night of opening until February, so lucky me. Tuna Algarve was first class, the service was a wee bit slow, but the food was worth the wait. Not many people in as there aren't many people here just now. All in all a great dining experience.

Sardines are really the best from Europe and around. :) inner pateo great and very friendly staff. Sangria bread and red wine good.
We ordered Chicken Piri Piri and a Fish Dish. Both of our meals were delicious and we booked a table directly for the next Dinner. We like the local and authentic Style of the Restaurant, so thats a real Fisherman Restaurant for us! Must Visit Place for our yearly vacation in Cabanas de Tavira.

We loved this restaurant so much we ended up visiting 3 times in our week's holiday. The fish was really fresh and the owner took a pride and was really friendly.

A great place for fresh seafood and fish dishes! We will come back for the fried squid and baked sole. Too bad the sardines were finished by the time we ordered.

Our first visit. Lovely rear patio area. Food excellent just so many dishes I wanted to try so got to return soon. I tried the Tuna in garlic preceeded by a prawn cocktail both superb. There was also tuna algarvian style a prawn curry and the grilled cuttlefish for my fellow diners. Excellent service by the owners too. 5*
